Gingerbread Coffee
Gingerbread Coffee makes your steaming cup of coffee extra special with a hint of warm gingerbread spices. Relax and enjoy a quiet moment to yourself with a mug of this spiced coffee.
This gingerbread coffee is a delicious holiday beverage that’s perfect for Christmas morning. Made with spices and brewed right in your coffee pot, this easy gingerbread coffee mix can be made ahead. Enjoy a mug of gingerbread coffee with a gingerbread cookie, gingerbread scones, or a slice of gingerbread coffee cake.
I love to take a few minutes in the morning or evening to sit by the light of the Christmas tree and enjoy a warm beverage. Lately that’s been a steaming mug of this gingerbread coffee.
I was shopping at Trader Joe’s a few weeks ago and noticed a canister of Gingerbread Coffee on the shelf. I picked it up and almost put it in my cart, but then realized that fully caffeinated Gingerbread Coffee wasn’t going to do me much good right now. That canister of coffee sparked my interest, though, and I decided to create my own Gingerbread Coffee. That way, I could make the flavor and caffeine level just what I wanted.
It could not be easier to make this Gingerbread Coffee at home. Simply stir together ground coffee with gingerbread spices, brew, and enjoy. The tricky part was finding just the right ratio of spices and coffee. I tested and retested the recipe until I found a combination that I was really happy with. This Gingerbread Coffee has a hint of gingerbread spice, without being overpowering. The coffee and gingerbread flavors are perfectly balanced so you can enjoy your coffee with a festive gingerbread twist.
I like my Gingerbread Coffee best unsweetened with just a splash of half n half. You can enjoy yours however you like your coffee best. If you’re feeling indulgent, add a swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for a real treat.
I’ll be taking a break from posting until next week to enjoy the holidays with my family. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season!

This chilly weather has me totally craving for a big cup of this coffee… Yum!
It’s my favorite this time of year!
I tried the gingerbread coffee from Dunkin Donuts this morning and it was a total disappointment! I’ve been flavoring my coffee with cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, etc. So this will be a perfect recipe to add into my rotation 🙂
Hi, how would this work? I’m guessing the spices mix will fall to the bottom of the container of coffee beans, should one try to get an even scoop of beans & spice mix when making coffee or do the spices infuse into the beans and the spices themselves should be discarded? What is the benefit of doing it this way, compared to just making a cup of normal coffee & then adding these spices then? Tnx! Does sound really yummy 🙂
The spices are mixed into ground coffee, not coffee beans, so they don’t fall to the bottom. The advantage to doing it this way is that the coffee is infused with the spices as it goes through the drip coffeemaker. I’m not sure how well the spices would dissolve if you stirred them into coffee – you might get a somewhat chalky texture.
Thanks for sharing! Was craving gingerbread coffee, just mixed this together this morning! On the spot to replace trader Joe’s gingerbread coffee! Thank you so much!
Kristine, thanks so much for this gingerbread coffee recipe!! It’s the first time I had a coffee that actually tasted like gingerbread. This is so cool, now I can have actual gingerbread coffee, yay!!! ?
I’ve tried that. It was amazing. I am so happy about that recipe.
This looks so good! What a fun drink to make for guests during the holidays!
This recipe is delicious! Even better than the Starbucks ground gingerbread flavor.
Thanks for the recipe! All of these spices are healthy for you, and you can add vanilla extract if you’d like.Â
